This Week's Reflection

 

I often chat with clients, program owners, one-to-one or in our program owners' Wednesday evening Zooms about mini-meditation. Often, they will tell me that they need to get better at stopping to "smell the coffee" during the day or that they need to get better at even reminding themselves to do it!

 

And, then, the conversation progresses and they realise that, without calling what they're doing a mini-meditation, they are actually mini-meditating!

 

Anything can be a meditation: just look at this week's Quick Tip and don't get hung up on the mini-meditation "label".

 

More often than not, in talking with the aforemntioned(!), we'll discover that birdsong is being heard and enjoyed, that beauty is being noticed in small things and enjoyed, that bodily feelings are more readily experienced... and enjoyed.

 

Yes, we're here to enjoy ourselves - it you're not enjoying yourself, pack up what you're doing, go back to bed, get up and start the day over, like you mean it.

 

There's that expression again (see the Quick Tip too!) - you will never live this day again, you will never have the opportunity to experience this moment again. If you're buried in thought, the moment is missed, gone forever. If you are buried in tought, stop, notice it, take breath and let your energy's flow re-establish its equilibrium.

 

 

 

This Week's Quick Tip

 

What you're doing right now provides you with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fully immerse yourself in what you're doing, like you mean it.

 

So: see, feel, hear, smell and taste what's going on now. Choose to allow yourself to fully experience it, regardless of what it is.

 

If you're doing something that you don't like doing, stop thinking that way about it - just do it.

 

If you'd prefer to be somewhere else, you can't - so stop thinking that way - just enjoy what you're seeing, feeling, hearing, smelling and tasting right now.

 

Right now is all you've got.
